Traffic Court Process in Webster Parish

After getting a ticket, check the court date on the citation. Most minor traffic violations give you the option to pay the fine before the court date. You can pay at the clerk's office in person or contact the court about other payment options.

If you want to contest the ticket, appear on your court date and enter a not guilty plea. The court sets a trial date after that. You can hire an attorney or represent yourself. For serious charges like DWI, an attorney is strongly recommended. The penalties go up fast with repeat offenses.

Failing to appear leads to a bench warrant. Unpaid fines can result in license suspension through the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles. Clearing these issues requires paying the fine, any late fees, and a license reinstatement fee. Do not let a simple traffic ticket turn into a bigger legal problem.
