DeSoto Parish Quick Facts
DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court
The DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court is located at 101 Texas Street in Mansfield. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1206, Mansfield, LA 71052. You can reach the office by phone at (318) 872-3110 or by fax at (318) 872-4202. Office hours run Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The clerk maintains the official court file for all traffic citations filed in the parish, which includes records of arraignments, dispositions, and case histories.
The Criminal Department at the clerk's office handles traffic records. Staff there receive, store, and maintain all criminal records, which includes traffic citations, indictments, arraignments, and dispositions. Most of these records are open to the public. Juvenile records and sealed files are exceptions. If you want to see a court record for a traffic case, start with the Criminal Department.
One thing to know up front: the Clerk's office does not take payments for fines tied to traffic citations or criminal sentences. The clerk's own language says it clearly: "The Clerk's office does not accept payments for fines or fees associated with criminal sentencing or traffic citations. These payments are typically handled through the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's department." So if you come to the clerk to pay a ticket, they will turn you away. Go to the Sheriff instead.
For email contact, the clerk can be reached at jeremye@desotoparishclerk.org. Note that the clerk's website has experienced access issues, so it is best to call or email rather than rely on the web portal for time-sensitive matters.

42nd Judicial District Court
The 42nd Judicial District Court handles all felony and misdemeanor cases in DeSoto Parish, including serious traffic offenses. The court's address is 210 Adams Street, Suite A, Mansfield, LA 71052. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1299, Mansfield, LA 71052. The main phone number is (318) 872-1366. Sonya Sharrow serves as Judicial Administrator and can be reached at desotoja@42jdc.com.

Standard moving violations and equipment infractions typically stay in the lower court tier. If you are not sure which court your case is in, call the clerk's office and give them the citation number or your name. They can tell you where the file is and what the status is.
The district court schedule is set by the judges, and court dates can change. Always confirm your court date directly with the clerk or judicial administrator before you plan to appear. Missing a court date in Louisiana can result in a bench warrant and possible suspension of your driver's license, so double-check everything in advance.
