One important note for attorneys: fax filing is prohibited in Rapides Parish effective January 1, 2026. The clerk's office announced: "Pursuant to Act No. 352, House Bill No. 310 of the 2025 Regular Legislative Session, fax filings will no longer be accepted for civil or criminal matters effective January 1, 2026." Attorneys must file in person or electronically. Non-attorneys may still file by mail, courier, in person, or electronically.

Rapides Parish offers online record access through the RAPID E-Search system at www.rapidesclerk.org/rapidesearch.htm. This is one of the more developed online court record systems in Louisiana. You can search civil, criminal, traffic, and probate records going back decades.

Traffic records go back to January 1990, though there are no scanned images for traffic cases (only index data). Criminal records go back to January 1984, with images available starting May 2003. Civil and probate records go back to October 1984, with images from March 1994. Marriage licenses go back to January 1865 with no images. Subscription pricing for RAPID E-Search: daily access is $20 plus $1 per page; a 31-day subscription is $60 plus $0.75 per page; annual access is $600 plus $0.75 per page.

DA Traffic Division

The Rapides Parish District Attorney's Office has a dedicated Traffic Division for handling traffic cases in the 9th JDC. The Traffic Division can be reached at 318-473-6650. City Courts in Rapides Parish

Rapides Parish has two city courts that handle local traffic violations in addition to the 9th JDC. Alexandria City Court is at 515 Washington Street, Alexandria, LA 71301. The phone number is (318) 449-5146. If your ticket was issued within the city limits of Alexandria by a city officer, your case may be in Alexandria City Court rather than the 9th JDC.

Pineville City Court is at 1008 Main Street, Pineville, LA 71360. Phone: (318) 449-5650. Citations issued by Pineville police within city limits typically go to Pineville City Court. If you are not sure which court has your case, contact the agency that issued the ticket. They can tell you where the citation was filed.

City courts operate with their own clerks and procedures. They are separate from the 9th JDC and the parish clerk's office. Records from Alexandria City Court or Pineville City Court are kept by those courts' respective clerks, not by the Rapides Parish Clerk of Court at the parish courthouse.

Records Access and Copy Fees

Traffic court records in Rapides Parish are public under La. R.S. 44:1. The Clerk of Court is the official custodian of district court records.
