There are two Sheriff's Office locations where you can pay in person. The Belle Chasse location is at 8022 Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. The lower parish location is at 18055 Highway 15, 1st Floor, Pointe-a-la-Hache. The main phone number for the Criminal Records Division is (504) 934-6808. The fax is (504) 433-2658. Not sure what you owe? The Sheriff's Office notes: "Call PPSO Criminal Records at 504-934-6808 for fee amount. If PPSO does not have fee amount it may mean the ticket has not yet been received by our office." So if you call and they have no record of the ticket, wait a few days and call again. Allow time for the citation to get entered into the system after it is issued.
Several ways to pay are available. You can pay online using nCourt. You can pay by credit card in person at either location. You can also pay by phone at (504) 934-6808. Citations That Require a Court Appearance
Most traffic fines in Plaquemines Parish can be paid without ever going to court. But some violations are not payable and require you to appear before a judge. The 25th JDC is clear about this: "Most fines are payable without a court appearance. However, the most common traffic citations which are NOT payable and require mandatory court appearance are; careless operation, reckless operation, speeding in school zone, suspended driver license, no car insurance, hit and run, passing a school bus with signs out, general speed 36 mph or more over the speed limit."
If your citation falls into any of these categories, do not try to pay it online or by phone. You must go to court. Missing a mandatory court date will result in a bench warrant being issued. A bench warrant means the court can order your arrest. If you are not sure whether your ticket requires an appearance, call the Sheriff's Criminal Records Division at (504) 934-6808 or the District Attorney's office at (504) 297-5150.
The DA FAQ page for the 25th JDC has additional guidance on what to expect at a mandatory court appearance and how the process works for each type of violation listed above.

Traffic Diversion Program
The 25th Judicial District Attorney's Office runs a traffic diversion program in Plaquemines Parish. This program may allow eligible drivers to avoid a conviction on their record by completing certain requirements. Not all citations qualify, and admission to the program is at the DA's discretion.
To apply, you must submit a copy of your citation to Sarah Petkovich at the DA's office. You can email the citation copy to sarahpetkovich@25thda.org or send it by fax to (504) 910-3072. Submit your citation promptly after receiving it. Waiting too long can affect eligibility. If you have questions about whether your ticket qualifies, contact the DA's office directly at (504) 297-5150.
The diversion program is one of the better options for first-time or minor violations. It keeps the offense off your driving record if you meet all the requirements. Ask the DA's office what those requirements are for your specific citation type.
