Pay Traffic Fines in Madison Parish

Madison Parish offers three ways to pay a traffic fine. Read the instructions below carefully before sending any payment. The amount you owe is only valid if paid on or before the court date shown on your citation.

As the parish warns: "THE ABOVE AMOUNTS ARE ONLY GOOD IF PAID ON OR BEFORE THE COURT DATE. Some violations may not be payable without a court appearance." Check your citation carefully to see if your charge requires a court appearance. If it does, payment alone will not resolve the case.

The screenshot below shows the Madison Parish payments page, which outlines the three payment methods accepted for traffic fines.

Contesting a Traffic Citation in Madison Parish

If you want to plead not guilty, you must appear in person at the Madison Parish Courthouse Building, 100 North Cedar Street, Tallulah, LA, at 9:30 AM on the court date shown on your citation. Do not send a payment if you plan to contest the charge. Payment counts as a guilty plea.

The parish makes this clear: "If your plea is NOT GUILTY you must appear in person in the court room at the Madison Parish Courthouse Building, 100 North Cedar Street, Tallulah, LA at 9:30 a.m. on the court date shown on your citation."

Missing your court date carries real consequences. As the parish states: "Failure to make payment as instructed above or to appear as directed on the date shown on your citation may result in a warrant for your arrest, suspension of your driving privileges, and/or additional costs for Contempt of Court for Failure to Appear." If you have already missed a date, contact the clerk's office right away to address the issue before it gets worse.
